Student Achievements – Congressional Art Competition

We are proud to celebrate our students’ outstanding achievements at the Congressional Art Competition, a national program hosted by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Picture
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.

Student Achievements – Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Picture
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated.

Recognized as one of the most competitive national art awards for teens, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards celebrate originality, technical skill, and artistic voice.
Winning a Gold Key or National Award significantly strengthens a student’s portfolio for top art schools such as RISD, Parsons, and Pratt.
